Resolute.

So, how has your first week of 2019 shaped out?

Did you make any New Year’s Resolutions? Have you kept them? I don’t typically make resolutions. Perhaps I have no follow-through. Nah…that can’t be it. I finish what I start…might take me a while, but I get it done. I don’t make resolutions associated with food. We eat fairly well, so that’s an unnecessary resolution. Although, now that I think about it, if I resolved to eat better, I could keep that one throughout the year.

If you don’t count last night.

Last night I had Ramen and five Oreos for dinner. Not sure what the rest of my family foraged around for, and found.

I suppose if I had to choose something to resolve, it would have to be intentionality. I want to be more intentional in the things I do. I want to be an intentional wife; meaning, I want to purposefully do “wifely” things for my husband. I want to outwardly show how much I appreciate him and ALL of the things he does for our family.

I want to be an intentional friend. I want to be the type of friend anyone can call in both a time of levity and a time of crisis. I want my friends to know I am there for them in all circumstances.

I want to be an intentional MOTHER. My children are growing up…fast. My oldest only has a few more months under my roof before he is released out into the wild. I want him to KNOW, beyond a shadow of a doubt how much he is loved and how capable he is and will be for his future. I want my other two children to fully grasp and revel in that same fact…knowing that soon, they too, will be on their own.

I want to be an intentional solider in the Faith. I once had a wise man tell me, “Dallas, you just might be the only Bible some folks ever read.” I want people to see forgiveness, grace, mercy and the same generosity in me that they would see in Jesus. Honestly speaking, this one will take some effort. But, I will be INTENTIONAL in my pursuit of it.

So, what about you? What do you want to see in this New Year?
